Lantern Festival |
| Linda | |
|
Hi Kenny, and everyone else reading this! I'd like to mention the annual Lantern Festival which is held in August in Yamaga City, Kyushu. The festival starts with street parades of women dancing, each with a paper lantern on her head. They must move gracefully or the lanterns will catch fire! The festival also has food stalls, fireworks, live music such as taiko drumming, and lots of other entertainment. I recommend this festival to anyone who loves dancing, drums, yakata, yakitori and fireworks. The attached photos are from the 2003 Lantern Festival. |

Hi Linda, Thank you for the information. I did not know this festival. I have checked other sites. Does it called "Yamaga Toryu Matsuri"? I sew a picture of kimono girl with lantern on her head. http://www.city.yamaga.kumamoto.jp/kankoh/08-tourou/index.html It seems that the festival will be held on Aug. 15th & 16th this year. I have added this event on "Event Calendar". Please check. Thank you again for informing. Kenny |

Hi Linda, Would you please try again to upload the pictures? I cannot see them. 1. Please minimize the size of the picture until approximately 12KB. 2. Click the Chinese charactor which says "Sansho" meaning "reference". 3. Accress to the place where you have the pictures on your computer. 4. Choose the picture which you like to share. 5. Press the button with Chinese charactors which says "Hiraku" (open) along with the alphabet"(O)". Or you can simply send the pictures to: info@kennyscafe.net I can upload the pictures on behalf of you. I appreciate if you can send two pictures at a time on email. It would take quite long to send if you attach more than that. Thank you. Kenny |
